Since completing her first Truisms in 1977, Jenny Holzer has worked on nine other major text complexes in which she deals with essential themes relating to the human condition: sexuality, birth, death, love, war, religion and politics. Visualised language is this American artist's preferred form of expression, and she literally transports her disturbing contents in electronic light tickers displayed in both public places and settings reserved for art.
